National Infrastructure Fund Appoints Inaugural Board of Directors

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — The National Development Fund (NDF) has announced the first Board of Directors for the National Infrastructure Fund (NIF). This board includes both national and international experts in infrastructure, finance, and investment.

Distinguished Board Members Named

The appointed board includes:

  • Dr. Nabeel Al-Amoudi is the CEO of Olayan Financing Company and a prominent member.
  • Abdulaziz Al-Arifi, CEO of the Shareek Program
  • Dr. Stephen Groff, Governor of the National Development Fund
  • Ismail Al-Salloum, CEO of the National Infrastructure Fund
  • Stephanie von Friedeburg, Managing Director at Citigroup and former COO of the World Bank Group
  • Marie Lam-Frendo, Chief Strategy Officer at Meridiam SAS and former CEO of the Global Infrastructure Hub

In February, Faisal bin Fadel Al-Ibrahim was named Chairman of the NIF Board. The appointment came from the NDF’s board, which Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman chaired.

Backing Saudi Arabia’s Energy Transition

Since its launch, the Fund has supported significant infrastructure developments. These include green hydrogen and solar energy projects in partnership with the National Infrastructure Fund, which are key to Saudi Arabia’s clean energy transition. The Fund’s work reflects the Kingdom’s push to diversify its energy mix and promote sustainability.

The Fund is designed to attract both local and global investors. It provides financing tools that help de-risk infrastructure projects and encourage public-private partnerships. Moreover, its approach aligns with Vision 2030, prioritizing economic diversification and quality-of-life improvements.
