Makkah, July 21, 2024 – Umm Al-Qura University and the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) concluded the “Mawhiba” Academic Summer Enrichment Program 2024 today. The event was attended by Dr. Fareed bin Ali Al-Ghamdi, Vice President of Umm Al-Qura University, to celebrate the achievements of the gifted students in the program.

The “Mawhiba” program showcased the scientific projects completed by the gifted students during the program at the accompanying exhibition. The exhibition featured approximately 28 projects from the participating 206 gifted students.

Dr. Zayed Al-Tuwaireqi, Dean of Student Affairs, explained that the enrichment units for the gifted female students consisted of five enrichment units: Anatomy and Physiology, Biomedical Sciences, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Renewable Energy.

Dr. Fareed bin Ali Al-Ghamdi noted that the program fostered collaboration between the university and the Education Department in the Makkah region to support and nurture gifted students, aligning with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 aimed at sustainable knowledge development through improved educational outcomes. He added that this collaboration bridges many initiatives between the university and Mawhiba.

At the end of the ceremony, participants, including officials, supervisors, and students in the 2024 Mawhiba Academic Summer Enrichment Program, were honored.
