JEDDAH — In celebration of Environment Week 2025, local volunteers joined a coastal cleanup initiative at Al-Hamra Beach, part of a broader campaign aimed at promoting environmental stewardship under the theme “Our Environment, Our Treasure.”
The initiative was led by the Environmental Affairs Department at the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture’s Makkah branch, in partnership with the Jeddah Municipality’s Social Responsibility Division.
Volunteers collected waste and engaged in interactive awareness sessions, reinforcing the importance of preserving marine ecosystems and protecting natural resources. Organizers emphasized the goal of embedding environmental awareness into daily community behavior, while discouraging harmful practices that degrade coastal habitats.
The campaign is one of several grassroots efforts aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, aiming to foster a culture of sustainability and community-driven environmental action across the Kingdom.
