RIYADH — The White House’s Chief Advisor for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Assets, David Sacks, praised Saudi Arabia as a vital partner in advancing global AI innovation, citing the Kingdom’s rapid growth in tech infrastructure and talent development.
Speaking at the Saudi-U.S. Investment Forum alongside Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Al-Swaha, Sacks emphasized that collaboration with Saudi Arabia is critical to shaping the future of intelligent technologies. The session coincided with a high-level U.S. delegation visit to the Kingdom.
Sacks noted Saudi Arabia’s emergence as a global player in AI, particularly in healthcare applications like genome sequencing and gene therapy for diseases such as sickle cell anemia. He also commended the Kingdom’s digital incubators, including the “Garage,” which houses startups focused on AI, robotics, and biocomputing.
Minister Al-Swaha highlighted Saudi Arabia’s transition from a traditional economy to a digital one driven by innovation. He revealed that partnerships with U.S. tech giants like Google, Apple, and Amazon have helped train over 381,000 Saudi youth in digital skills, with a strong emphasis on empowering women in future-facing sectors.
Al-Swaha stressed that Saudi Arabia not only adopts AI technologies but also contributes to their development and governance, aiming to create global ethical and regulatory frameworks for responsible AI use.
The minister concluded that the Saudi-U.S. partnership stands as a global model for collaboration in technology and artificial intelligence, reinforcing the Kingdom’s ambition under Vision 2030 to become an international hub for innovation and AI solutions.
