Jeddah — The Saudi Football Federation’s Appeals Committee has, for the second time, returned Al Wehda’s protest against Al Nassr to the Disciplinary and Ethics Committee for further review.
Al Wehda filed the protest after Al Nassr reportedly arrived 10 minutes late to the scheduled kickoff of their league match—one that ended in a 2–0 away win for Al Nassr.
The Disciplinary Committee initially rejected the protest on March 4, a decision that was overturned by the Appeals Committee. However, the Disciplinary Committee reaffirmed its rejection on April 28, maintaining that its decision remained appealable under Article 144 of the federation’s disciplinary regulations.
Now, the Appeals Committee has once again accepted Al Wehda’s appeal and returned the case to the Disciplinary Committee for further adjudication. The ongoing legal back-and-forth has drawn attention to procedural clarity and timing rules in the Saudi League.
