Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — The fourth session of the Saudi-Spanish committee opened in Riyadh, reflecting a shared push to strengthen economic cooperation.

Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal bin Fadel Al-Ibrahim leads the Saudi delegation. Carlos Cuerpo, Spain’s Minister of Economy, Trade, and Business, heads the Spanish side. The two sides aim to build on the progress made during the previous session in Madrid in 2022.

The Saudi-Spanish Business Forum runs alongside the committee meeting. The Federation of Saudi Chambers organized the forum with support from the Ministry of Economy and Planning and the Ministry of Investment. It encourages private-sector collaboration and showcases investment opportunities across vital sectors.

The talks focus on industries such as logistics, construction, food, sports, and tourism. Spanish officials are meeting directly with senior Saudi counterparts to explore ways to enhance cooperation.

According to the General Authority for Statistics, trade between the two countries reached SAR 22.9 billion by the end of 2024. Saudi exports totaled SAR 12.4 billion, while imports from Spain amounted to SAR 10.5 billion.

The Saudi-Spanish committee seeks to develop a future-focused partnership built on mutual interests. Through business engagement and direct dialogue, both countries aim to increase trade flows and broaden investment access.
