The Saudi Standard’s View: Game Industry Growth Without Gender Gaps
The Savvy Games PNU game art partnership represents more than talent development. It demonstrates how Saudi Arabia is developing its gaming industry with inclusion and workforce planning at its core.
By embedding technical training within Princess Nourah University, the Kingdom is expanding its creative economy. At the same time, it addresses gaps in women’s participation in gaming and technology. Partnerships like this align with Vision 2030’s goals of economic diversification and increased opportunities for women.
For Savvy Games Group, this initiative reflects a strategic shift beyond global acquisitions. By developing local game artists, especially women, Saudi Arabia strengthens its domestic capacity. The program supports the National Gaming and Esports Strategy’s aim to become a global gaming hub.
The program also reflects global best practices. It combines academic rigor with practical industry skills to produce graduates ready to compete internationally.
For policymakers, the message is clear. Growing the Saudi games sector requires more than investment. It demands targeted skills development, real inclusion, and sustainable career pathways for Saudi talent, without leaving half the population behind.
