Etihad GO Doubles Down on Growth With 140M SAR Profit

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — Etihad GO Telecom Co. posted a net profit of 140 million SAR for the first half of 2026, up 10.2% from 127 million SAR in the same period last year. Revenue surged 22.4% to 1.108 billion SAR, driven by explosive wholesale segment growth and steady B2B gains. The results show a business executing its expansion strategy without letting costs spiral out of control.

Quarterly Breakdown

In Q2 2026, Etihad GO generated revenue of 563 million SAR, up 19.8% year-on-year and 3.3% above the prior quarter’s 545 million SAR. Net profit reached 72 million SAR for the quarter, a 10.8% jump from 65 million SAR a year earlier and a 5.9% rise from 68 million SAR in Q1 2026. Gross profit climbed to 153 million SAR, up 14.2% year-on-year. Operating profit hit 77 million SAR, a 16.7% increase from Q2 2025. Total shareholders’ equity stood at 1.142 billion SAR at period end, up 29.5% from 882 million SAR a year ago. Earnings per share reached 4.12 SAR for the half-year period, compared to 3.73 SAR in H1 2025.

Key Drivers

  • Wholesale segment: Revenue jumped 53% in Q2 2026 year-on-year, adding 99 million SAR. Over the full half-year, the segment grew 55%, contributing 193 million SAR in additional revenue.
  • B2B segment: Revenue rose 5% in Q2 and 11% over the half-year, with government and private sector project execution driving the gains.
  • Cost pressure managed: Higher revenue of 93 million SAR in Q2 was partially offset by a 74 million SAR increase in cost of revenue. Selling, marketing, and administrative expenses added a net 13 million SAR drag.
  • Credit risk improving: Expected credit loss provisions fell by 5 million SAR in Q2 and 6 million SAR over the half-year, a positive signal on receivables quality.
  • Efficiency initiatives: Etihad GO reduced finance costs by 2 million SAR and government fees by 7 million SAR quarter-on-quarter, partly offsetting a 11 million SAR rise in marketing spend.

What This Means for Investors

  • Revenue growth is real and broad-based. Both wholesale and B2B segments are growing, reducing dependence on any single customer type or contract.
  • Profit margins face mild compression. Revenue grew 22.4% over the half-year, but net profit grew only 10.2%. Costs are rising faster than the top line — an area worth watching.
  • Shareholders’ equity is expanding rapidly. A 29.5% jump to 1.142 billion SAR signals a strengthening balance sheet, which supports continued business investment.
  • Earnings per share momentum is positive. At 4.12 SAR for H1 2026 versus 3.73 SAR a year ago, the company is delivering measurable shareholder value growth.

THE SAUDI STANDARD’S VIEW: ETIHAD GO’S GROWTH SIGNALS TELECOM SECTOR MATURITY

Etihad GO Telecom’s first-half 2026 results represent more than a single company’s quarterly beat — they reflect a maturing competitive dynamic within Saudi Arabia’s telecom infrastructure sector. With revenue crossing the one billion SAR threshold and profit expanding across consecutive quarters, the company’s performance warrants close attention from investors positioned in the Kingdom’s digital economy.

• WHOLESALE DOMINANCE IS THE STORY WITHIN THE STORY

A 55% surge in wholesale segment revenue over the half-year period is a structurally significant result, not a one-time windfall. It points to accelerating demand for telecom backbone capacity — a direct consequence of Saudi Arabia’s rapidly expanding digital infrastructure and cloud adoption. Investors should interpret this segment’s trajectory as a leading indicator of broader network monetization opportunities ahead.

• MARGIN COMPRESSION DEMANDS DISCIPLINE

When revenue grows at more than double the rate of net profit, cost management becomes the defining test of management quality. Rising cost of revenue alongside increased marketing expenditure suggests Etihad GO is investing aggressively to sustain its growth trajectory — a calculated trade-off, but one that requires close monitoring over the next two to three reporting periods. Investors should track gross and operating margins as the more revealing performance benchmarks going forward.

• BALANCE SHEET STRENGTH OPENS STRATEGIC OPTIONS

A shareholders’ equity base approaching 1.15 billion SAR, expanding at nearly 30% year-on-year, positions Etihad GO with meaningful financial flexibility. Reduced finance costs and improving credit quality on receivables further signal a business tightening its financial fundamentals even as it pursues expansion. This combination historically supports stronger credit access and potential capacity for future capital deployment.

• B2B GOVERNMENT EXPOSURE PROVIDES EARNINGS STABILITY

The steady growth of the B2B segment, anchored by government and private sector project execution, functions as a natural hedge against wholesale revenue volatility. Government-linked contracts in the Saudi market tend to carry longer-cycle visibility and lower default risk, contributing to the improvement in expected credit loss provisions. For risk-conscious investors, this segment’s consistent contribution is as valuable as the headline wholesale growth numbers.

Etihad GO’s performance aligns directly with Vision 2030’s ambition to build a world-class digital infrastructure ecosystem that powers economic diversification. As Saudi Arabia accelerates investments in smart cities, cloud services, and digital government platforms, telecom operators positioned across both wholesale and enterprise segments stand to capture sustained, policy-backed demand. Companies demonstrating disciplined cost management alongside top-line scale — as Etihad GO is attempting — will be central to the Kingdom’s transformation from an oil-dependent economy to a digitally integrated one.
