Dammam, July 21, 2024 – The Eastern Province Municipality intensified general cleaning efforts in the neighborhoods, main streets, and internal roads of Nairyah and its affiliated centers and villages during the first half of this year. This initiative is part of the visual distortion remediation and urban landscape improvement campaign, and extends the comprehensive plan aimed at enhancing service levels in the governorate, service facilities, and raising environmental awareness.

The municipality announced that these efforts included the removal of more than 65,000 cubic meters of debris, sand, and unidentified waste, and 30,753 tons of household waste. Additionally, scattered waste was collected, waste contents were regularly emptied and transported, and bins were washed and disinfected periodically, with damaged bins being replaced in the neighborhoods and affiliated centers. Public restrooms, public facilities, and sidewalks were also cleaned and maintained.

Furthermore, water accumulations were filled to eliminate sources of pests, and modern equipment and suitable devices were used to combat pests, insects, and rodents, consuming 228 liters of concentrated pesticides.

The Eastern Province Municipality affirmed its ongoing service efforts to highlight the aesthetic aspect of the governorate by intensifying general cleaning, removing debris and construction waste around homes, in public streets, and at the entrances of the governorate and between residential neighborhoods. These efforts aim to maintain the aesthetic appearance, improve environmental services, and enhance the urban landscape by addressing pollutants and visual distortions. The municipality urged everyone to report any observations or complaints through the 940 Center for resolution.
