Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources carried out 1,247 inspections of industrial establishments across Saudi Arabia in July 2024. These field visits, organized by the General Directorate of Branches, aim to ensure factory compliance with national standards. They focus on quality, safety, and regulatory adherence.
Spokesperson Jarrah Al-Jarrah reported that inspections were most concentrated in the Makkah region (357), Riyadh (303), and the Eastern Province (219). Other regions included Qassim (82), Madinah (57), Asir (51), Jazan (50), Hail (34), Tabuk (31), Najran (30), Northern Borders (19), and Al-Baha (14).
Saudi Industrial Inspections Reinforce National Manufacturing Standards
Al-Jarrah emphasized that these inspections reflect the ministry’s strategic oversight role. The goal is to confirm that industrial entities meet licensing obligations, adopt proper safety protocols, and maintain high product quality standards.
Beyond factories in major industrial cities, the ministry is also focusing on facilities operating in remote or unregulated areas. Many of these inspections target compliance gaps. This includes issues particularly in safety licensing, emergency preparedness, fire suppression systems, and the secure storage of materials.
As per regulations, every factory must hold a valid safety license from Civil Defense. Facilities must also implement emergency exits and fire control systems suitable for their operations.
The Saudi Standard’s View: Regulation That Delivers Confidence
The volume and geographic spread of July’s inspections send a clear message: oversight is now a central feature of Saudi Arabia’s industrial policy, not an afterthought. Manufacturing credibility hinges on accountability as much as on growth.
By enforcing safety and quality standards across all regions—industrialized or not—the Ministry affirms that national compliance is non-negotiable. These efforts build not just safer factories, but stronger investor confidence and global competitiveness.
To lead regionally, Saudi Arabia is aligning industrial growth with world-class oversight. These inspections are not just routine—they signal a commitment to quality, safety, and international competitiveness. As Vision 2030 advances, regulatory excellence will be just as critical as infrastructure in shaping a resilient, export-ready industrial base.
