Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources carried out 1,247 inspections of industrial establishments across Saudi Arabia in July 2024. These field visits, organized by the General Directorate of Branches, aim to ensure factory compliance with national standards. They focus on quality, safety, and regulatory adherence.
Spokesperson Jarrah Al-Jarrah reported that inspections were most concentrated in the Makkah region (357), Riyadh (303), and the Eastern Province (219). Other regions included Qassim (82), Madinah (57), Asir (51), Jazan (50), Hail (34), Tabuk (31), Najran (30), Northern Borders (19), and Al-Baha (14).
Saudi Industrial Inspections Reinforce National Manufacturing Standards
Al-Jarrah emphasized that these inspections reflect the ministry’s strategic oversight role. The goal is to confirm that industrial entities meet licensing obligations, adopt proper safety protocols, and maintain high product quality standards.
Beyond factories in major industrial cities, the ministry is also focusing on facilities operating in remote or unregulated areas. Many of these inspections target compliance gaps. This includes issues particularly in safety licensing, emergency preparedness, fire suppression systems, and the secure storage of materials.
As per regulations, every factory must hold a valid safety license from Civil Defense. Facilities must also implement emergency exits and fire control systems suitable for their operations.
