RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Air Connectivity Program (ACP), in collaboration with the Jeddah Airports Company (JEDCO), announced an expansion of Transavia France’s operations in the Kingdom starting October 2025, with the launch of new direct flights from Toulouse and Marseille to Jeddah.
This move follows the success of routes launched last year from Paris-Orly and Lyon, and reflects a rising demand for air travel between France and Saudi Arabia.
The expansion supports the goals of Vision 2030, aiming to position Saudi Arabia as a leading global tourist destination by strengthening international air connectivity.
> “This expansion strengthens access to the Kingdom and supports our broader tourism ambitions,” said Majid Khan, CEO of the Air Connectivity Program. “Boosting connectivity with France is vital to our tourism and aviation strategies.”
Mazen Johar, CEO of JEDCO, emphasized that the initiative aligns with the National Aviation Strategy, which seeks to connect King Abdulaziz International Airport to 150 destinations worldwide and serve more than 90 million passengers by 2030.
> “These new routes will reinforce Jeddah’s role as a strategic hub between East and West, offering travelers more choices and a smoother travel experience,” Johar stated.
Nicolas Hénin, Chief Commercial Officer at Transavia France, said the airline is building on a strong foundation in the Kingdom:
> “After a successful season with our Lyon–Jeddah and Paris-Orly–Jeddah routes, we are expanding our footprint in Saudi Arabia and launching service to Medina, deepening our cooperation with Saudi aviation partners.”
The Air Connectivity Program is a key enabler of both the National Tourism Strategy and the National Aviation Strategy, fostering partnerships between public and private sectors to enhance Saudi Arabia’s global accessibility and economic diversification.
