Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — Americana Restaurants International confirmed it is holding early discussions to acquire Cravia, a regional operator of well-known restaurant franchises in the Middle East.

Americana Cravia acquisition under review

Americana filed to Saudi Tadawul on Monday and said the talks are preliminary and ongoing. The deal may involve acquiring a stake or multiple stakes in Cravia. No final agreement has been signed.

Cravia operates popular regional food and beverage brands, including Five Guys, Cinnabon, Seattle’s Best Coffee, and Zaatar w Zeit.

Strategic expansion for Americana Restaurants

Bloomberg reported last week that Americana is exploring a Cravia acquisition to expand its restaurant franchise network in the Middle East. Americana is already a key player in the region’s quick-service and casual dining market. Adding Cravia’s portfolio would strengthen its position in the premium fast-casual segment.

The company confirmed it would update the market on material developments without delay, aligning with Saudi Exchange disclosure rules.

The Saudi Standard’s View: Scaling Up in Saudi Arabia’s Food Sector

Americana’s early-stage talks with Cravia reflect the intensifying competition—and opportunity—within Saudi Arabia’s food and beverage landscape. The Kingdom’s rapidly growing consumer base and evolving dining preferences continue to attract operators seeking scale, brand diversification, and market share.

For Americana, known for operating global franchises across the region, adding Cravia’s portfolio—anchored by brands like Five Guys and Cinnabon—could bolster its position in the fast-casual and premium quick-service segments. Such a deal aligns with broader trends of regional players consolidating to improve efficiency, supply chain leverage, and customer reach.

While the talks remain preliminary, they signal Americana’s intent to deepen its Middle East footprint through strategic acquisitions rather than solely organic growth. Should the deal materialize, it would mark another step in shaping Saudi Arabia’s competitive food services sector to meet both local demand and international quality standards.
