Seoul, South Korea — New Murabba Development Company, a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), has signed a three-year New Murabba Naver Cloud agreement with South Korea’s Naver Cloud, a leader in smart technology and cloud solutions. The partnership was formalized during the Investment and Partnership Forum, held at Seoul’s Conference Center from June 30 to July 2, 2025.
The three-year New Murabba Naver Cloud agreement focuses on advancing smart city technologies and digital transformation. Key areas include robotics, autonomous vehicles, smart platforms, and digital tools to track construction progress for the New Murabba Destination.
The 14-square-kilometer New Murabba project is a significant urban development in Riyadh. It aims to transform the Saudi capital through innovation, infrastructure, and sustainability.
Advancing Saudi Smart City Projects and Saudi-Korea Technology Cooperation
Michael Dyke, CEO of New Murabba, stressed the importance of international partnerships for delivering modern urban innovation.
“This partnership reflects our commitment to building strategic relationships with global leaders to create smarter, more sustainable cities,” he said during the ceremony.
The collaboration supports Saudi smart city projects by integrating advanced technologies to enhance livability, efficiency, and connectivity. Naver Cloud’s expertise in digital infrastructure will drive key phases of New Murabba’s development.
The agreement also reflects stronger Saudi-Korea technology cooperation, reinforcing both countries’ shared commitment to innovation and smart infrastructure.
Showcasing Riyadh Urban Development and PIF Global Partnerships
During the Investment and Partnership Forum, New Murabba presented its master plan, investment opportunities, and development progress to over 500 participants. The audience included investors, developers, decision-makers, and smart solution providers.
The event featured scaled models and virtual reality presentations. These offered an in-depth look at Riyadh’s urban expansion plans.
Dyke shared that New Murabba has completed over 14 million cubic meters of excavation work. That amount equals roughly 5,400 Olympic-sized swimming pools. This milestone reflects significant progress in preparing for core project components.
