Hail, Saudi Arabia — The National Agricultural Development Company (NADEC) has laid the foundation for a major livestock and meat production project in Hail. The initiative, led by Al-Raei National Livestock Company—a NADEC subsidiary—aims to increase local red meat production and reduce reliance on imports.
The launch ceremony was held under the patronage of Prince Abdulaziz bin Saad bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of Hail. The Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, Eng. Abdulrahman Al-Fadhli and private sector representatives were in attendance.
According to NADEC’s statement to the Saudi Tadawul, this project is one of the Kingdom’s largest livestock initiatives. Al-Raei National Livestock Company is 51% owned by NADEC, in partnership with Al Muhaidib Group.

The project focuses on developing integrated sheep and goat farming facilities using advanced technologies. Its goals include:
- Increasing domestic red meat production
- Reducing meat import dependency
- Empowering small-scale breeders
- Promoting sector sustainability
The project aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 food security goals by enhancing the Kingdom’s livestock sector and ensuring long-term resilience.
Total investment is approximately SAR 2 billion, including SAR 1.1 billion in government-backed financing from the Agricultural Development Fund. The project aims to reach an annual production capacity of 1 million sheep by 2030.
