Bloomberg — Tali Ventures, the venture capital arm of STC Group, has taken a minority stake in Tarmeez Capital, a local private debt specialist. The Tali Ventures Tarmeez Capital investment aims to accelerate Tarmeez’s growth in Saudi Arabia’s expanding private credit market.

Confirming the deal, Tarmeez CEO Nasser Al‑Saadoun said the fund intends to secure an asset management license later this year. This license will allow Tarmeez to issue and manage credit facilities for private companies.

Notably, Tarmeez plans to launch its first private credit fund, valued at around SAR 1 billion, within two years and is also considering an IPO in the next three years.

Founded in 2022, Tarmeez has already arranged SAR 2.3 billion in private financing deals—primarily via Islamic sukuk offerings.

Tali Ventures Tarmeez Capital Investment Propels Private Credit Ambitions

By investing through Tali Ventures, STC Group signals its confidence in the private debt segment and the broader fintech ecosystem. The minority stake will help Tarmeez scale its operations and gain momentum toward formal licensing.

According to Bloomberg, the terms of the investment remain private. However, strategic alignment and sector synergies drive this partnership and support Saudi Arabia’s ambitions for financial diversification.

The Saudi Standard’s View: Private Credit Gains Momentum under Vision 2030

The Tali Ventures Tarmeez Capital investment marks a turning point for Saudi private credit. Tarmeez’s rapid SAR 2.3 billion deal flow since 2022 highlights sector potential.

Moreover, plans for a SAR 1 billion fund and future IPO signal a maturing debt market. As regulated structures like sukuk gain traction, private credit could become a core pillar of domestic financing.

STC’s backing through Tali Ventures adds credibility and strategic alignment. It reinforces the Kingdom’s push toward innovation in SMEs and private companies under Vision 2030.

If Tarmeez executes its roadmap, it may establish itself as Saudi Arabia’s first home-grown private debt fund. Its expansion could pave the way for others in fintech, credit, and Islamic finance.
