Red Sea International Airport Launches First Global Flights

Tabuk, Saudi ArabiaRed Sea International Airport has started international flight operations, marking a key milestone in Saudi Arabia’s tourism strategy. FlyDubai operated the first international flight on Thursday, April 18. The new route includes two weekly flights, running on Thursdays and Sundays.

These flights add to the existing domestic services from Riyadh and Jeddah, provided by Saudi Airlines. With this expansion, the airport now manages eight regular weekly flights. Its location near Saudi Arabia’s west coast makes it a gateway to stunning beaches, coral reefs, and scenic islands.

John Pagano, CEO of Red Sea Global, said the milestone reflects the country’s growing global appeal. “This first international flight is another step toward making Saudi Arabia one of the world’s top tourist destinations. The airport offers easier access to the Red Sea destination,” he said.

Boosting Tourism and Vision 2030 Goals

The new international service follows the opening of two luxury resorts: Six Senses Southern Dunes and the St. Regis Red Sea Resort. These hospitality projects, along with the airport, aim to attract high-end travelers and support job creation in the region.

Officials expect three more resorts to open by the end of the year. These developments are part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 plan to diversify the economy and grow its tourism sector. The Red Sea area is a focal point for this strategy.

With more connections and premium accommodations, Red Sea International Airport is set to play a major role in shaping the Kingdom’s sustainable tourism future.
