Jazan, Saudi Arabia — The Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu announced that Jazan City for Primary and Downstream Industries has signed a memorandum of understanding with Shandong Xiehexiang Nutrition Co., Ltd., a Chinese food manufacturing firm, to establish a major production facility in the Kingdom.

The agreement was inked during the Saudi-Chinese Business Forum in Beijing, which coincided with the official visit of Eng. Abdulrahman Al-Fadley, Saudi Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture. The forum emphasized bilateral cooperation in food production, sustainability, and export opportunities.

The Shandong Jazan food industry investment exceeds SAR 100 million, earmarked for a plant in Jazan’s animal protein zone. The facility will focus on meat and poultry production, with expected exports of over 50,000 tons annually.

This strategic investment boosts Saudi Arabia’s food manufacturing capacity and supports Jazan’s emergence as a regional hub for industrial food production. It also aligns with the Vision 2030 objective of diversifying the economy and establishing the Kingdom as a global player in agri-food exports.
