Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Swaha, inspected digital systems and telecom networks in preparation for Hajj 1446H (2025). His visit showed how Hajj 2025 technology is shaping a more connected and intelligent pilgrimage experience for millions of visitors.
Digital Systems to Support Millions of Pilgrims
The minister toured telecom leaders — stc, Mobily, Zain, and Tawal — and reviewed their operational readiness. He examined their emergency plans, mobile network capacity, and digital services. These steps reflect a national push to apply digital Hajj services through public-private partnerships that use smart tools like artificial intelligence and high-speed networks.
Al-Swaha praised the Kingdom’s leadership for supporting this transformation. He also thanked telecom providers for expanding their systems to handle rising demands during peak Hajj days. These efforts form the foundation of Hajj 2025 technology, which aims to deliver fast, reliable service in crowded holy sites.
This year, the digital infrastructure saw major upgrades. Telecom firms activated more than 9,000 towers with 4G and 5G support — a 6% increase from 2024. They also extended over 2,000 kilometers of fiber optic cable to improve speed and reach, marking a 7% annual improvement.
To improve the pilgrim experience further, the ministry rolled out more than 10,500 public Wi-Fi points across Makkah and Madinah. Meanwhile, over 4,000 digital engineers and support staff will manage real-time operations during the pilgrimage.
In conclusion, Hajj 2025 technology is delivering smart systems, wide digital coverage, and AI-powered tools. With these efforts, Saudi Arabia is setting a global benchmark in religious tourism and proving its commitment to innovation and service excellence.
