Saudi Board Program Graduates 5,125 in Record Year
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) announced the graduation of 5,125 professionals from the Saudi Board Program in 2024, marking the largest cohort in the program’s history. This milestone reflects the Kingdom’s ongoing commitment to building a high-performing healthcare workforce that meets national development goals.
Expanding Capacity and Modernizing Training
In 2024, the number of Saudi Board training seats rose to 7,057, representing a 26% increase from the previous year. This expansion underscores the SCFHS’s ability to respond to the evolving demands of the healthcare sector. To further enhance training quality, the commission accredited the Virtual Health Hospital as a Saudi Board training center. Moreover, it implemented digital learning tools and virtual practice models, thereby aligning with global best practices in medical education.
Global Recognition and International Participation
The Saudi Board Program also gained international recognition after its inclusion in the “Study in Saudi Arabia” initiative. As a result, it attracted 147 graduates from 21 countries and welcomed 764 trainees from 38 nations in 2024. Since its inception, the program has graduated more than 2,900 non-Saudi professionals, thereby strengthening its academic credibility on a global scale.
Strategic Role in Vision 2030
Importantly, the Saudi Board Program plays a key role in the Health Sector Transformation Program—one of the strategic pillars of Vision 2030. Through its efforts, the SCFHS is working to build a sustainable, skilled national workforce. With the launch of its 2025–2030 strategy, the commission now aims to expand the program’s global reach and position Saudi Arabia as a regional center for healthcare excellence.
