OPEC+ Nations to Increase Oil Production by 411,000 bpd in July 2025
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — OPEC+ production increase efforts will intensify in July 2025, as eight member countries implement a combined boost of 411,000 barrels per day (bpd). The nations—Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, the UAE, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria, and Oman—met virtually on May 31, 2025, to review oil market trends. Citing stronger fundamentals and stable global forecasts, the coalition decided to continue easing voluntary supply cuts.
This increase follows the phased reversal of a 2.2 million bpd OPEC+ production adjustment that began in April 2025. Falling oil inventories and firm economic data supported the decision.
Production Targets and Strategic Flexibility
Each nation confirmed its July 2025 production target:
Country | July 2025 Production Target (kb/d) |
---|---|
Saudi Arabia | 9,534 |
Russia | 9,240 |
Iraq | 4,122 |
United Arab Emirates | 3,169 |
Kuwait | 2,488 |
Kazakhstan | 1,514 |
Algeria | 936 |
Oman | 782 |
This latest OPEC+ production increase reflects a coordinated strategy to balance the global oil market. However, members emphasized that they may revise or pause future increases based on economic signals.
Continued Cooperation and Monitoring
All eight countries reiterated their commitment to the Declaration of Cooperation. They also referenced voluntary adjustments agreed at the 53rd JMMC meeting on April 3, 2024. Furthermore, they pledged to compensate for any overproduction since January 2024.
To maintain oversight, monthly meetings will continue. The next session, scheduled for July 6, 2025, will assess market dynamics and set August production targets. These ongoing discussions reinforce the group’s flexible, data-driven approach to managing oil supply.
