SPA — The Kingdom will host the 21st General Conference of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in Riyadh from November 23 to 27, 2025. The announcement came during a promotional event organized by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, in partnership with UNIDO. The event took place in Vienna on the sidelines of the 53rd session of the Industrial Development Board (IDB).

Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Austria, Dr. Abdullah bin Khalid Tola, attended the event alongside representatives from member states and global industry leaders.

Saudi Arabia UNIDO General Conference 2025 Reflects National Vision

During the event, Saudi Arabia presented its preparations for hosting the conference. These included national development projects, industrial initiatives, and programs aimed at enhancing global cooperation. Participating entities included:

  • The Ministry of Media (Konoz Initiative)
  • The Ministry of Investment (Invest Saudi)
  • The Saudi Fund for Development
  • The Saudi Tourism Authority (Spirit of Saudi Arabia)
  • The Saudi Export Development Authority

Eng. Khalil bin Ibrahim bin Salamah, Deputy Minister for Industry Affairs, stated that hosting the conference reflects the Kingdom’s growing role in global industrial development. He explained that the event will support collaboration on sustainable manufacturing, innovation, and technological transformation.

UNIDO Global Event Strengthens Industrial Partnerships

UNIDO Director-General Gerd Müller praised Saudi Arabia’s preparations. He also recognized the Kingdom’s contributions to industrial development programs in emerging markets. Furthermore, he noted that the conference provides an opportunity to enhance partnerships among governments, private sector entities, and civil society.
