Munich, Germany — Lucid Motors has set a new standard in electric vehicle endurance. The company earned a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the longest journey by an EV on a single charge.

The Lucid Air EV range record reached 1,205 kilometers. The drive stretched from St. Moritz, Switzerland, to Munich, Germany. It included alpine roads, highways, and secondary routes. The feat beat the previous record by 160 kilometers.

Lucid Air EV Range Record Highlights Electric Efficiency

At the core of this achievement is the Lucid Air Grand Touring. It features a WLTP range of 960 kilometers and consumes only 13.5 kWh per 100 kilometers. The car produces 831 PS and can reach a top speed of 270 km/h.

It also supports ultra-fast charging. In just 16 minutes, the battery can regain up to 400 kilometers of range.

Inside, the Lucid Air offers seating for five and a luxury interior. It blends comfort with cutting-edge performance. Lucid’s advanced electric systems, including high-voltage design and smart battery management, continue to set the brand apart.

Collaboration and Lucid Motors Technology Drive EV Record

This marks Lucid’s second major world record with entrepreneur Umit Sabanci. In 2024, Sabanci visited nine countries in one trip using the same model.

“This new achievement takes that journey even further,” said Sabanci. “Electric mobility isn’t just the future; it’s already redefining what’s possible.”

Eric Bach, Lucid’s Senior VP of Product and Chief Engineer, added: “Our cars combine top efficiency with advanced electric systems. This record proves our energy advantage.”

The Saudi Standard’s View: EV Endurance Sets the Pace for Innovation

Lucid’s range breakthrough is more than an engineering success. It signals the intensifying global race for EV efficiency and battery leadership.

Driving over 1,200 kilometers without charging shows how software, design, and power management can work in harmony. For Saudi Arabia, this achievement offers a roadmap.

As the Kingdom advances its EV plans — from NEOM’s transport grid to CEER’s production launch — range and reliability must be top priorities.

Lucid’s AMP-2 plant in Saudi Arabia means the Kingdom is not just a buyer, but a builder of high-performance electric mobility.

The know-how behind this record can help Saudi engineers, researchers, and technicians shape the next generation of clean transport. As global benchmarks shift, aligning investments with measurable innovation outcomes will be key to gaining leadership.
