Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — AviLease, the Saudi-headquartered global aircraft lessor, has placed its first direct manufacturer order with Boeing for 30 Boeing 737-8 aircraft. This deal marks a pivotal milestone in the company’s expansion strategy. Furthermore, it aligns with the Kingdom’s aviation ambitions under Vision 2030.
The agreement supports AviLease’s goal of becoming a top-10 global aircraft leasing firm. Deliveries will continue through 2032, enabling the company to offer modern, fuel-efficient solutions to its global airline clientele.

Fahad AlSaif, Chairman of AviLease, emphasized the national importance of the transaction. “This strategic order strengthens our standing as a global player. Moreover, it aligns with PIF’s mandate to accelerate economic diversification,” he said.
CEO Edward O’Byrne noted that the AviLease Boeing order complements the firm’s growth channels—including M&A, secondary trading, and sale-leasebacks. It also establishes a foothold in OEM procurement. “These new aircraft enhance our portfolio and demonstrate our agility across financing models,” he added.
Boeing Aircraft Order Supports Saudi Green Aviation Goals
Boeing’s senior vice president of Commercial Sales, Brad McMullen, stated, “This agreement deepens our partnership with AviLease. In addition, it expands the 737 MAX’s reach in the global market. These jets offer exceptional range and fuel efficiency, key for next-generation airline operations.”
The 737-8 is part of Boeing’s MAX series. It is known for reducing fuel use and emissions by 20% compared to previous-generation aircraft. This performance aligns with environmental goals across the aviation industry.
