Jeddah, Saudi Arabia — Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, Governor of Jeddah, presided over the closing ceremony of the 1446H Hajj cybersecurity exercise. This event reinforced Saudi Arabia’s commitment to digital security during the annual pilgrimage. Held under the patronage of Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Makkah Region, the event marked a successful end to the two-day Hajj cyber drill.

Organized by the National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA), the exercise convened over 800 cybersecurity professionals from more than 300 national entities. It focused on improving Saudi Hajj cybersecurity preparedness, strengthening threat response capabilities, and raising public awareness among pilgrims and service personnel.

Strengthening National Readiness Through Hajj Cybersecurity Exercise

Upon arrival, the Governor reviewed a presentation on the NCA’s initiatives to secure digital systems supporting Hajj operations. A key highlight was a demonstration of the simulation platform used during the drill. This platform was developed locally in partnership with the Saudi Information Technology Company (SITE).

An official video detailed the Authority’s training programs, which equip cybersecurity teams with the latest threat detection and response strategies. These exercises ensure that digital infrastructure supporting transport, healthcare, and logistics remains resilient during Hajj.

National Collaboration and Recognition for Cybersecurity Excellence

Prince Saud praised the NCA and all participating agencies for their coordinated efforts in protecting critical systems. He emphasized that such exercises are essential to guaranteeing secure and reliable digital services for pilgrims from around the world.

The event concluded with an awards presentation honoring standout teams and individuals. These recognitions highlight the Kingdom’s broader strategy to build local cybersecurity expertise. It also focuses on protecting its digital assets during major national and religious events.
